Amazon Sr Technical Program Manager, BADS - Business Analytics and Data Science in Boston, Massachusetts

The Business Analytics and Data Science (BADS) team automates the ingestion and curation of data for analyses, business reviews and operational reporting demands as well as leveraging ML and GenAI for the enablement of automated integration across our warehouse control and robotic systems. Our north star is to enable and leverage the power of data to drive informed decision-making and value through analytical and scientifically derived insights and innovative solutions and processes.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the custom development of our cutting-edge software solutions for data engineering and generative AI. The ideal candidate will possess proven program management experience with a successful track record of leading large-scale, complex projects. They will have a strong technical background, the ability to comprehend and communicate technical concepts effectively, and exceptional problem-solving skills. They will demonstrate a passion for innovation and a drive to stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving field of data engineering and generative AI.

Key job responsibilities

Program Management:

  • Guide the application development process, ensuring seamless cross-functional coordination and dependencies management.

  • Plan project requirements, identify and mitigate potential risks, and manage project schedules with precision.

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams, bridging gaps and facilitating seamless workflows.

Technical Leadership:

  • Work closely with our science and data engineering teams to architect and build scalable, distributed services that augment our data portfolio and foundational model developments.

  • Leverage your strong technical background to navigate complex challenges, making informed decisions and driving innovation.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Roadmap Management:

  • Spearhead the team's roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives.

  • Contribute to the annual business planning process, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management

  • Must have excellent product and project management skills and demonstrated technical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
