Our Education team offers consulting services and technology solutions to help schools, school districts, and state education agencies promote student success, improve programs and processes, and optimize financial resources. We work with clients to ensure all students have what they need to succeed.

The Pacific Northwest Education Region at Public Consulting Group seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager.

Our Senior Project Managers excel in software implementations and production support, leveraging project management best practices. They provide hands-on management and support for multiple regional projects, aligning with the strategic vision established by the Project Management Office (PMO).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage specific projects ranging from small to large scale ($100,000 to $3,000,000+).

  • Provide project management guidance and direction to consultants, supporting the PMO and regional initiatives.

  • Utilize and promote project management best practices, including but not limited to:

  • Scope Management (handling change requests)

  • Time Management (maintaining schedules)

  • Cost Management (overseeing budget, costs, and pricing)

  • Quality Management (ensuring quality and testing)

  • Communications Management (reporting and managing escalations)

  • Risk/Issue Management

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Systems Development Life Cycle

  • Collaborate with management to resolve resource constraints and build capacity in project teams.

  • Lead and direct team members in a matrix organization.

  • Apply advanced problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis, alternatives, and solutions.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.

  • Identify and implement project improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure projects meet or exceed objectives.

  • Advise and support strategic initiatives to mature project management best practices with staff.

  • Prepare high-level reports for internal and external stakeholders, including managers and senior staff.

  • Provide after-hours support and travel as required.

  • Develop and deliver internal project management training sessions.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to organize and plan work efficiently within set time limits and other constraints.

  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate and influence outcomes with clients, project teams, and staff.

  • Proficient in Project Management concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Proficient in building and maintaining schedules using MS Project.

  • Proficient in all aspects of working remotely with teams and clients.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • 8+ years of experience in Project Management managing complex, multi-year projects.

  • Knowledge of technology solutions and extensive experience within the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Knowledge of K-12 Education Technology Solutions (preferred).

  • Project Management Certification (PMP) strongly desired.

Working Conditions

Position is mostly remote, with the occasional need to travel to client and office sites for planning meetings, working sessions, and team celebrations, etc. Must reside within the Pacific or Mountain time zones.

As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $85,000-$110,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role below.
