Microsoft Corporation Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Microsoft 365 in Boston, Massachusetts

The Microsoft 365 Consumer Go-to-Market (GTM) team is looking for an experienced Senior Product Marketing Manager to lead Web Marketing Strategy with the aim of accelerating subscriber growth.

The Microsoft 365 Consumer Go-to-Market team sits within the Modern Life, Search, and Devices (MLS&D) marketing team. This team markets products like Windows, Edge, Surface, and Microsoft 365. The Microsoft 365 Consumer GTM team is then accountable for driving consumer acquisition across multiple marketing and sales channels worldwide. Microsoft 365 includes apps and services like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Defender, and many more.

Responsibilities

As the Senior Product Marketing Manager leading Web Marketing Strategy for Microsoft 365, you will have the opportunity to drive a significant impact on our business by evolving the end-to-end web direct marketing experience for our consumer customers. Our web direct marketing experience spans search, social, digital advertising, content and product marketing sites, and transactional sign up and purchase experiences.

In partnership with other marketing and product teams, your key responsibilities will include defining the strategic role of each element in the web direct marketing experience, driving the process of evolving those experiences, and building a new framework for better understanding both traffic patterns and funnel performance.

Success will look like a steady increase in organic web traffic, deeper engagement with our web content, and higher conversion rates in our web direct marketing funnel. Specific responsibilities will include the following:

Strategy:

  • Conduct audits of the Microsoft 365 consumer web direct marketing experience to identify opportunities to improve SEO, reduce friction, and drive conversion.

  • Perform regular benchmark studies on best-in-class web direct marketing experiences delivered by both first-party and third-party teams, focusing on multiple facets of the experience, including design, layout, wayfinding, copywriting, visual asset use, and personalization.

  • Workclosely with multiple marketing and product teams to define clear roles, jobs, and hand offs for each step in the web direct marketing experience across search, social, digital advertising, content marketing, product marketing, and transactional experiences.

  • Establish a framework for directing traffic through the marketing funnel that optimizes for intent signals, segmentation, and app vs. suite-level interest.

  • Identify opportunities to consolidate or retire legacy web pages and experiences to reduce operational costs and streamline the customer journey.

  • Define requirements for personalization and testing support across web direct marketing platforms.

  • Communicate strategic recommendations to senior leadership to obtain support to drive needed change.

Execution:

  • Work closely with multiple marketing and product teams to execute the strategic recommendations.

  • Prioritize recommendations and define the roadmapfor delivering quick wins while making steady progress on the larger vision.

  • Act as the single point of contact to consolidate and prioritizeall web direct marketing work for the Microsoft 365 consumer marketing teams, including experimentation.

  • Collaborate with brand, creative, and copywriting stakeholders to ensure consistency, clarity, and relevancy across the web direct marketing experience.

Insights:

  • Work closely with analytics teams to improve insights into web direct marketing performance, inclusive of traffic sources, SEO, site and page performance, conversion rates, and site visitor profiling and behavior.

  • Produce monthly reports for senior leadership on traffic trends across the industry, web direct marketing experience performance, andexperimentation results.

  • Use insights to inform future recommendations and experimentation plans.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in business

  • OR Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in business

  • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business

  • OR equivalent experience
