In this role you will lead a multimodal design work stream focused on advanced AI technologies in voice forward and screen forward experiences. You will explore and inform the design of fully multimodal vehicle expressions and user interactions across broad user journeys that touch multiple areas of the vehicle interface and services. You are an excellent collaborator leading coalitions of cross functional partners to deliver high quality experiences.

• Develop multimodal designs and frameworks for powerful and transformative connected vehicle experiences that focus on automated driving systems, AI, voice interfaces and emerging advanced technology.

• Collaborate with your peers in Product Management, Engineering, and multidisciplinary design functions to create and inform designs that get customers the most value out of simple, relatable products powered by advanced tech.

• Balance forward-looking work and a high bar for quality with a bias for action and a desire to deliver customer value quickly.

• Work with leadership to inform strategic design direction and be comfortable with charting a path through ambiguity.

• Lead a multimodal work stream that defines the customer problem, opportunity, tradeoffs, and converges on ways we can solve with great product designs.

• Contribute to Ford's digital Product Design team culture as an exemplary leader and mentor in Design across the company.

• 6+ years of relevant design experience in a commercial organization.

• Experience shipping digital products and diving deep on complex design problems.

• Experience with AI, voice, robotics, devices and or embedded systems.

• Ability to communicate design concepts through sketches, diagrams, narratives, wireframes and prototypes.

• Demonstrable understanding of how UX, visual design, physical design, content, and research contribute to creating a holistic, easy-to-use experience.

• Able to function independently in ambiguity and within a structured team environment, with excellent collaboration skills.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; both written and verbal.

• Passionate for solving customer problems.

• A design to develop the design craft and culture at Ford Model E.
