YRC Freight Sr Field Education Specialist (West) in Boston, Massachusetts

JOB SUMMARY

Will deliver technical training to support operations leadership employees to ensure the successful performance of the operations. Facilitate training presentations using a variety of tools and methods, including one-on-one field training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Deliver technical training to support leadership level employees to ensure the successful performance of operations.

  2. Facilitate training presentations using a variety of tools and methods; including one-on-one field training, focusing on leadership level employees.

  3. Deliver effective education both in form of classroom delivery and/or one-on-one coaching.

  4. Provide education compliance support and reporting information for operations leadership.

  5. Support operations education class instruction.

  6. Proactively ensure training materials reflect current practices and policies by communicating any concerns to Learning & Development Manager.

  7. Coordinate training program logistics, including scheduling training classes and presentation space, setting classroom configuration, audio-visual set-up, requesting necessary training materials, etc.

  8. Act as a resource to field operation regarding education requirements.

  9. Serve as a role-model and ensure company and regulatory standards are always followed.

  10. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Four (4) years’ experience required in instructor-led training, field operations manager role or related area.

  2. Required Skills, Abilities and/or Licensure.

  3. Working knowledge of field operations and/or training principles.

  4. Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.

  5. Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with various audiences and ability to effectively provide employees instruction on process and practice.

  6. Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.

  7. Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple processes, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.

  8. Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.

  9. Ability to mentor, coach, and act as a knowledge resource to other employees.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Business Management or related field experience and education.

  2. Demonstrated knowledge of operations, trucker relations, and safety procedures.

  3. Knowledge of government regulations, company policies, and procedures pertaining to the transportation industry.

  4. Experience in implementing training solutions that improve employee performance.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs. of supplies and materials is required.
