Overview

The Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer tests compatibility of Game (Slot) manufacturer software, IGT created and 3rd party software with our systems. The SQA Engineer performs audits and tests related to software products in accordance with documented software test plans and procedures.

Debugs and characterizes defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing test cases for product evaluation reports. Maintains documentation of test operations and reports the results to the Site Manger and Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) when needed. Identifies actual or potential problems in test.

Your Typical Day:

• Attend morning stand-up and collaborate with the System Operations team on the daily plan.

• Create SQL report based on video slot meters that fall outside of accepted criteria. Report results to the Mass Gaming Commission finance team. Function performed by 9am.

• Collaborate with the IGT Ops team to review any visits that may be needed to the any of the 5 remote locations (3 Casinos & 2 Data Centers).

• Assess any issues with data transfers, collection, and storage that may have occurred since the past day.

• Test any software updates for compatibility with our systems. Ensure new gaming software for slot machines interact with our systems as expected to meet contractual requirements.

• Create any db2 or SQL data queries based on requests from either IGT or Mass Gaming Commission.

• Assist Mass Gaming Commission on any data queries from the Data Warehouse.

• Create or Update documentation for any current or new process.

• Attend and participate in any System Admin or Network related activities as needed.

Plan visits to our 5 locations in Massachusetts where data is stored to include three casinos and two data centers when on-site assistance is needed. This may include minor troubleshooting devices not communicating with our systems. On The Job (OJT) Training will be provided for troubleshooting.

Tasks/Skills:

• Debug’s software products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products.

• Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans, automated scripts, and programs for testing.

• Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures.

• Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.

• Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.

• Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.

• Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software.

• Ensures quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing plans or company products.

• Assists product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures.

• Assists Customer / venues / casinos with troubleshooting when applicable

Requirements

Education:

Associates degree is required; bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:

• 1-5 years of related experience is required.

• Experience with MS Office, Windows 7 &10, VMware, Visio, Windows Server 2012, Linux.

• SQL

• DB2

• CLI

• AQT (Advance Query Tool)

• Basic knowledge of Network Systems & Troubleshooting (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet)

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $39,848-$103,002. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses.
