Pearson Solutions Manager, School Assessments in Boston, Massachusetts
We are looking for a Solution Manager to join our team to drive innovative solutions to our clients and, often, the product team. The Solution Manager will play a crucial role in the success of the proposal process by providing guidance before, during and after an active RFP. They will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the process of developing and delivering comprehensive solutions that address customer needs and challenges. The Solution Manager must be able to articulate technology and product development to both internal and external users. The Solution Manager is a bridge between the customer and the product teams. This position will lead the review and analysis of Requests for Proposals. The ideal candidate will have excellent reading comprehension skills, the ability to quickly and accurately analyze complex information, and strong attention to detail. Ultimately, you will work with the organization’s leaders to identify areas of improvement or overall new technology solutions.
Knowledge of our wide range of assessment technology and services will ensure we provide innovative and effective solutions that meet our customers’ needs and exceed their expectations.
Responsibilities:
Manage and document solution design for School Assessments for current and prospective statewide assessments.
Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
Be a conduit between subject matter experts and technology professionals.
Read and analyze RFPs/RFIs from potential clients to understand their requirements, needs, and expectations. Followed by the facilitation of internal solution development.
Lead discussions with Product Managers to define how various solutions will be utilized to offer the most effective and efficient solution for our customers.
Perform market research and gap analysis to allow development teams to prioritize their roadmaps in alignment with the business development strategy.
Identify opportunities that will increase value and improve the assessment experience for students, parents, and educators.
Provide technical training and demonstrations with customers.
Assist in customer delivery planning, change, and needs analysis.
Desired Requirements:
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with wide variety of customers and colleagues.
Innovative and collaborative approach to solving complex problems
Experience working with educational assessment and surveys related to higher education accreditation; as well as research purpose and design, statistical and research methods, data collection, analyses, and evaluation.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and concepts; both in writing and orally.
Skilled in Governance *, * Data Classification, Architecture, Security, Storage and Operations, Analytics and Business Intelligence
Quickly learn new processes and tools, business domains and technical applications
Approaches change with a positive attitude and enthusiasm; considers issues from multiple perspectives; weighs options carefully before selecting a course of action for a major initiative.
Takes the initiative and learns product, process, and procedures quickly and independently.
Highly organized and able to work independently and with a team to meet a variety of shifting deadlines.
A high sense of urgency and attention to detail are required.
It may require travel.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree desired or commensurate experience.
5+ years of proven ability to manage multiple, complex, and large projects
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Prefer experience working in an agency with outside clients.
Experience writing business documentation (estimates, proposals, contracts, etc.).
Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
