Are you interested in building a knowledge management (KM) platform that helps the AWS worldwide sales organization serve our customers? The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Sales, Marketing, and Global Services Ops (SMGS Ops) team is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Software Development Engineer (Machine Learning) to play a pivotal role in building KM platform for our worldwide sales field organization. This is an exciting opportunity to innovate and reimagine how we use Generative AI technologies to curate, manage, and share knowledge with our field employees that exponentially enhances seller productivity and unprecedented growth of our business. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design and build all stages of the product from the front-end UI and content creation to the back-end services, database, and code pipelines to automate content, knowledge management, and delivery.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ability to quickly learn cutting-edge technologies and algorithms in the field of Generative AI to participate in our journey to build best-in-class Seller tools.

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of key platforms to improve seller productivity.

  • Work directly with key stakeholders and customers to understand the vision and requirements

  • Design, develop, implement, test, and document embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.

  • Translate functional requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture.

  • Participate in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance.

  • Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.

  • Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation.

  • Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures.

A day in the life

You'll work with a diverse set of stakeholders within SMGS Ops as well as product marketing and our global sellers. You'll work across dependent development teams to gain alignment on strategy and plan.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
