This apprenticeship opportunity is for U.S. citizens who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces including Reserves, National Guard, and service member spouses.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for aspiring and motivated individuals, who align with our Leadership Principles for our Software Development Apprenticeship Program. If accepted, apprentices will be provided on the job training leading to an opportunity to join as a Software Development Engineer with Amazon Web Services. As an apprentice, you will have a unique opportunity to combine technical and hands on training with our team as you develop your Software Development skills.
The 12 months on the job training consists of a combination of AWS internal training paired with shadow opportunities and industry recognized certifications. Clear benchmarks are set to justify compensation increases, conversions or termination.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields with a graduation date between May 2023 - September 2025 or graduated within the last 24 months.
OR
• Graduate of Skillstorm, TLG, WA2VETS, or MSSA with a conferral date on or after 9/1/24 AND either a Bachelor’s Degree in a computer/IT related field or 4+ years of equivalent computer/IT experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Knowledge of, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl
• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $35,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $157,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
