Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class compute, storage, networking, database, and security. Requirements:
Do you want to build great things in a vibrant, smart, high energy team? Are you an experienced developer looking for a role to have a bigger technical impact? We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer with cloud experience to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and must have an understanding of large-scale distributed systems (cloud-based environments). In addition, they will have a good experience of taking a new major feature from start to release. This role will drive the technical aspects of our product definition, contribute to the product strategy of our solutions, and contribute to the development of next generation Platform system features for Oracle’s IaaS cloud environment.
As a Senior Principal Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that our cloud infrastructure solutions are designed and built with the highest level of scalability in mind. You will partner with other development teams responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing solutions within a distributed computing environment. You will conduct threat modeling of systems under development, ensure systems are built to align with security, identity, metrics, search, and others in the design, development, and deployment of distributed systems.
Qualifications
7+ years distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment
Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in PaaS engineering.
Experience developing service-oriented architectures and web services security solutions
Development experience in Java/golang/C++/C# as well as scripting languages
Experience working with other cloud platform teams and accommodating requirements from those teams (compute, networking, search, store).
Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
Comfortably in a collaborative, agile development environment.strong experience contributing to open sources and building services in golang/java.
We are building a new product that would be used by our internal users and external customers, looking for experience building large scale systems that are reliable and secure.
Strong experience in fixing security vulnerability issues, dealing with authZ/authN would be a strong plus.
Experience migrating data from an existing system to a new system and building associated tools to help the transition would be helpful as well. Further to that we plan to expose this as a managed OCI service for our external customers.

Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
