Oracle Senior Technical Support Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

As a Senior Technical Support Engineer you will provide assistance to internal and external clients working with the Discern Explorer(CCL), Discern Expert, and DA2 Millennium solutions. This would include debugging existing code, assisting in solution build, and providing knowledge transfer. Assistance is provided through various message boards, ticketing systems, and via phone support. In addition, the candidate would have the opportunity to work on developing solution documentation, creating training materials, and moderating user training.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related industry experience

  • 5+ years working with SQL, Discern Expert, Discern Explorer(CCL), or DA2.

  • Experience working in a customer service role

  • Ability to learn and apply new technical skills and concepts quickly

  • Strong critical thinking and systematic problem solving skills

  • Databases, data models, and schema

  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal

  • Cerner Millennium EHR experience

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years experience with one or more of the Discern solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide solution support via multiple methods(phone, web, email)

  • Maintain a service queue of tickets

  • Develop training documentation

  • Debug source code written in CCL(Discern Explorer)

  • Troubleshoot issues using backend and frontend tools

  • Collaborate on cross-team and cross-product technical issues with other support teams to solve complex issues

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-call support when needed

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
