Sr. Technical Program Manager – EUC Business Operations

Job Description

VMware is searching for a Senior Program Manager to help transform EUC solutions and business operations into a true, scalable SaaS operating model. This individual will work closely with leadership to drive, track, and report on programs and strategies related to automated product fulfillment, pricing & packaging lifecycle, as well as with regards to SaaS and backoffice transformation.

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing complex pan-BU programs that connect systems and processes together across EUC’s product and technology portfolio. These programs encompass customer/partner experience and portals, sales quoting tools and tool development, backoffice development and migration from legacy systems to new, and portfolio rationalization and packaging across the EUC product ecosystem.

The role requires an individual with high co-operational and analytical skills who can drive a unifying vision across VMware’s End User Computing business unit, as well as further other business units within VMware. This individual with have deep interpersonal and fact-based decision making skills while also being very comfortable with ambiguity and making the unstructured structured.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain comprehensive program management reporting, tracking, and executive messaging system

  • Support BU leadership in prioritization discussions and managing large volumes of work across limited resourcing; includes some elements of financial planning as it relates to program budgets and timelines

  • Enthusiast of SaaS operating model and back-office vision roadmap through collaboration with EUC and VMware core back-office product management and engineering teams

  • Work directly with internal customers and partners, as needed, to understand the risks and blockers across programs/projects and identify resolution alternatives

  • Coordinate with and report on multiple product and project tracking instances with a high volume dependencies between organizations and projects in-flight

  • Influence strategic decision making with program/project insights and holistic view across ongoing initiatives

  • Manage, develop, and grow a small team of project managers

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years in program management, internal/management consulting, strategic planning, or similar functions

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a company that offers a software-as-a-service solution, or software products

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills characterized by technical acumen, clarity, and brevity, including working with product story documentation

  • Ability to gather and process requirements from persona’s internal and external, including 2 years of work in a customer or partner facing capacity

  • Advanced program management acumen with software management solutions just at Atlassian Suite, MS Project, Miro

  • Ability to work with people at all job levels across a broad variety of job functions to coordinate cross-team projects

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and a natural predisposition toward data-driven decision making, additionally able to make reasoned decisions in situations of uncertainty or imperfect data

  • Experience with offer setup, subscription management, billing, pricing, analytics, and monitoring preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of what’s most important

  • Prior experience with complex, multi-threaded program management across multiple BUs/cost centers

  • Previous experience in cloud services business such as AWS, Azure and SFDC

  • Previous experience in billing information systems such as SAP or SFDC

  • Previous experience managing small to medium teams of individuals, executing organization vision

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field, with MS or MBA a plus
