As a Senior Solution Architect at SMX, you will play a critical role in leading and driving cloud technology initiatives for our clients. You will be responsible for delivering client projects, leading technical teams, engaging with client executives, and supporting pre-sales activities. You should have advanced skills in application migration, application modernization, and DevSecOps. This role will require a blend of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and strong communication skills to deliver high-quality solutions to our clients. This is a remote position supporting a Boston, MA based team.

Client Project Delivery:

o Lead the architecture and design of complex solutions in application migration, modernization, big data, and AI.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

o Ensure that technical solutions align with client objectives and requirements.

o Provide guidance and mentoring to project teams, ensuring successful project execution.

Pre-Sales Support:

o Engage with client executives to understand their business needs and challenges.

o Participate in pre-sales activities, including solution presentations, technical discussions, and proposal development.

o Develop comprehensive Statements of Work (SOWs) that clearly define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.

o Accurately predict the Level of Effort (LOE) required for project implementation.

Technical Leadership:

o Lead and inspire technical project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

o Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud, application migration, modernization, big data, and AI.

o Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Client Relationship Management:

o Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.

o Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical client executives.

o Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality solutions that meet or exceed expectations.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a focus on application migration, modernization, and DevSecOps.

  • 10+ years of experience designing, deploying, and utilizing DevOps tool chains for deployment automation, Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Python

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud computing or digital business development

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex technology projects that feature AWS, as well as other CSPs

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with and sell to client executives.

  • Experience in developing well-written Statements of Work (SOWs) and accurately predicting project Levels of Effort (LOE).

  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Relevant certifications in cloud computing, AI, or related areas are a plus.

  • AWS Professional certifications strongly desired

The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is:

$148,100—$231,400 USD
