This job has the option to beremote or in one of our hubs in Atlanta or Redmond.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, your typical day might include:

  • Driving "Customer Obsession" mindset and working backward from the customer perspective with a focus on the larger picture.

  • Contributing to the software architecture, design, and code of our existing\current large-scale distributed systems and new systems we are investing in.

  • Driving and contributing to our culture of Engineering Excellence like operational and business efficiency, secure clean code, CI\CD pipeline, unit test, regression testing, uptime, using smart telemetry data to make decisions, investment in technical and infrastructure debt, blameless root cause with a learner and growth mindset.

  • Helping and driving good software engineering practices like SOLID design practices, design patterns, object-oriented design (OO) and object-oriented programming (OOP).

  • Collaborating with team members and across organization to come up with new ways to solve old and new problems.

  • Attending Livesite meeting and bringing postmortems learning back to the team and organization.

  • Continue to learn from some of the brightest minds in the business, they are also looking to learn from you.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years programming experience with at least one modern language such as C# or Java, C, C++, or other programming languages, preferably on cross Linux/Windows platform.

  • 2+ years of technical leadership experience

  • Demonstrated experience driving software engineering practices through good software design, clean and secure code, code reviews, unit test, CI\CD pipeline, operational efficiency, and using data to make decisions.

  • Experienced and strong skills around SOLID design practices, OOD, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems that factors in and affect code quality, extensibility, performance, durability, and responsiveness.

  • Ability to coach and mentor junior software engineers or software engineers in all aspects of their engineering duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Building and scaling tier-1, tier-2 systems is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Native Cloud like Azure, AWS, GCP or similar

  • Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS
