Red Hat Senior Software Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

Develop new software features for the Open Data Hub and Red Hat OpenShift Data Science. Participate in upstream communities such as Kubeflow to ensure the technologies work on OpenShift and can be integrated with Open Data Hub.

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, Inc. office in Boston, MA.

What You Will Do:

  • Contribute to existing software to add new functionality and improve performance.

  • Interact with data scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders involving group discussions, pair programming, status meetings, and peer reviews to build optimal software solutions.

  • Participate in discussions with OpenDatahub stakeholders to assess the feasibility of machine learning problem statements and operational issues.

  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.

  • Design and implement machine-learning models that help in automating and improving software operations.

  • Implement software automation to deploy and monitor the deployment of applications.

  • Coordinate during test, staging and production of new software, installing and monitoring its functioning and performance.

  • Participate in the design process of new software, documentation of requirements, the design itself and its feasibility.

What You Will Bring:

  • Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

  • Must have three (3) years of programming experience with Python or Golang;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with developing and building applications in Kubernetes or OpenShift;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with developing software in Linux environment, including debugging and working with Linux commands;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with ML technologies, including pipelines, model serving, and notebooks;

  • Must have one (1) year of experience with source code control tools, including Git.

The salary range for this position is $157,643 - $211,180. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
