Amazon Senior Software Development Engineer, AGI in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

The AGI team is responsibly advancing Amazon’s generative AI technologies, including Amazon Nova—our newest generation of state-of-the-art foundation models offering frontier intelligence and industry-leading price-performance. We are also building Agents that automate processes in both virtual and physical environments.

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer, who is experience in low-level programming to be responsible for leading a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of innovative systems for Agents with a passionate multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for a candidate that will have an established a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with a team of Applied Scientists with expertise in specialized modeling areas.

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented Software Engineers who have experience building innovative, mission critical, applications at scale that customers love. You will have an opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of innovative products used every day, by people you know.

  • Responsible for developing and evolving large-scale distributed systems.

  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software.

  • Will work with scientists and software engineers to evaluate technical feasibility, investigate design approaches and prototype and develop new technology.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

  • Experience in computer architecture

  • 3+ years experience in low-level programming including operating systems, networking, and/or memory management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
