Our organization is currently seeking exceptional synthetic organic chemists to join the Discovery Process Chemistry (DPC) group at our Boston, MA site.

The core responsibility of the successful candidate will be to drive the development of innovative solutions to complex chemistry problems across a diverse portfolio of projects in the discovery phase, from lead identification through candidate selection, with the goal to apply these solutions to facilitate medicinal chemistry research by overcoming synthetic bottlenecks, streamlining SAR analogue synthesis, and providing access to novel chemical space. This will further entail the successful translation of these solutions to practical processes to supply Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (APIs) for candidate compounds as they transition into development. Close collaboration with chemistry colleagues, as well as a broad array of other discovery and preclinical research groups, will be expected. As such, the candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. A Ph.D. in chemistry with experience in methodology/catalysis (including chemocatalysis, biocatalysis and heterogeneous catalysis), total synthesis, physical organic chemistry, or flow chemistry is required.

  • Must have conducted outstanding research in his/her field of expertise that may be shared during the interview process.

  • Function well within multidisciplinary teams and possess outstanding communication skills.

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Additional experience within an academic laboratory (post-doctoral fellowship) or the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is a plus.

  • A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications and research presentations is a plus.
