Humana Senior Project Manager - Remote, US in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

The Senior Project Manager manages all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. The Senior Project Manager work on assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager designs, communicates, and implements operational plans for completing projects.

  • Provides day to day management of projects, proactively identify and manage barriers, risk/issues and mitigation plan and stakeholder communications according to project management discipline.

  • Facilitate and lead collaboration with cross functional teams.

  • Manage end-end project implementations, obtain requirements, define scope, strategic goals and performance indicators.

  • Oversees multi-year strategic enterprise project portfolio.

  • Manages prioritization of project portfolio and successful delivery of several projects running simultaneously.

  • Monitors progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.

  • Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources to complete the project.

  • Prepares designs and work specifications; develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.

  • Communicates with other operational areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.

  • Conducts meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project. Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones.

  • Begins to influence department's strategy.

  • Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.

  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Three (3) or more years of project leadership experience.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP, PMI) certification.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.

  • Experience managing cross functional medium to large scale projects in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to manage stakeholders and hold them accountable for deliverables.

  • Self-directed individuals with ability to manage through ambiguity.

  • Must have a room in your home designated as a home office; away from high traffic areas where confidential information may be secured.

  • Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.

  • For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home. Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma, Lean certification.

  • Healthcare IT project management experience.

  • Experience in agile methodologies, Kanban and Scrum.

  • Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle.

  • 3 years of program management experience.

Additional Information

  • Travel: up to 10%.

  • Typical Workdays: Monday - Friday; 8am - 5pm (Eastern Time Zone but flexible).

Interview Format

As part of our hiring process, we will be using an exciting interviewing technology provided by Modern Hire, a third-party vendor. This technology provides our team of recruiters and hiring managers an enhanced method for decision-making.

If you are selected to move forward from your application prescreen, you will receive correspondence inviting you to participate in a pre-recorded Voice Interview and/or an SMS Text Messaging interview. If participating in a pre-recorded interview, you will respond to a set of interview questions via your phone. You should anticipate this interview to take approximately 10-15 minutes.

If participating in a SMS Text interview, you will be asked a series of questions to which you will be using your cell phone or computer to answer the questions provided. Expect this type of interview to last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Your recorded interview(s) via text and/or pre-recorded voice will be reviewed and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.
