Vista Outdoor Senior Performance Marketing Manager - CamelBak in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary:

The Senior Performance Marketing Manager will be a key leader of the Ecommerce Team and directly responsible for developing the annual strategy for, planning, implementing, optimizing CamelBak’s Performance Marketing initiatives including Paid search, Display, Affiliates, and paid Social Media advertising. Additionally, this person will also develop the strategy and manage the Amazon paid and display advertising strategy and program implementation. As a Senior Leader of the Ecommerce team, this person will also be responsible for building out our broader long-range acquisition and retention strategies as well as the management and optimization of performance marketing advertising programs with 3rd party agencies. They will have a proven track record of managing PPC as well as multi-faceted digital marketing campaigns that drive ecommerce conversions, customer acquisition and enable growth of customer retention rates. This role will ensure the customer’s journey from advertisement to conversion is on brand and effective in meeting performance marketing objectives.

Primary Objectives:

  • To drive effective performance marketing strategies that ensure both short and long term profitable digital marketing investments

  • To set goals for, and champion, best-in-class customer retention and acquisition marketing strategies

  • Develop effective working relationships across functions in particular Brand and Product Marketing, Customer Service and Marketing IT Teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present quarterly strategic plan for all performance marketing initiatives across Direct to Consumer and Amazon

  • Regularly review and optimize existing investments across PPC, email, SEO, and other performance marketing channels

  • Manage and drive external agencies (Rakuten), set new commercial targets for all Direct to Consumer ad buying activities implemented by 3rd parties

  • Manage and drive external agencies (Tinuiti), set new commercial targets for all Amazon Marketplace ad buying activities implemented by 3rd parties

  • Drive the eCommerce ‘Digital Marketing plan’ ensuring it includes key brand events, planned eCommerce initiatives, and customer mindset/seasonal communications.

  • Drive the adoption and utilization of digital marketing dashboards and reporting; ensure they are up to-date and accurate at all times

  • Motivate and align team (of 2 to 3 direct reports) prioritize activities to ensure optimal alignment of resources and cost effective use of the digital advertising budget

  • Coordinate with Brand/Product Marketing Team to ensure that all key product launch and brand campaigns are effectively integrated into the appropriate online channels.

  • Collaborate with Brand/Product Marketing to integrate organic and paid social media activity into broader eCommerce Digital Marketing plans.

  • Define strategy, launch and own the overall adoption of a new customer VIP loyalty program for the brand and incorporate retention marketing strategies into all paid digital marketing activities

  • Define and manage existing internal workflow for digital creative asset approvals to ensure cross team collaboration is efficient and scalable.

  • Streamline and improve existing reporting outputs to ensure they meet requirements

  • Develop a simple attribution model to allow contrasting investment strategies to emerge

  • Research alternative marketing tactics being used across wider Vista brand set – and propose relevant adoption for CamelBak

  • Own and drive outputs from 3rd party tools such as Yotpo, Pollfish & Awario

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related area

  • Minimum (5) years of experience building profitable online advertising programs

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing project management experience

  • Vast knowledge and experience with Google and Bing SEM platforms

  • Experience building profitable Amazon AMS campaigns

  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools ie: Google Analytics Studio

  • In-depth experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud

  • Experience with A/B and multi-variate testing

  • Obsessive level of organization and attention to detail

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities

  • Ability to be flexible and learn new applications and provide fresh solutions to challenges

  • Passion for new and emerging media channels and technologies
