About the Senior MDM Solution Architect Position

In this role, you will be responsible for successful design and delivery of MDM solutions and services in a client consulting environment.

  • Ability to conduct Data Modeling & Taxonomy

  • Ability to conduct User/Admin and Workflow design sessions

  • Able to develop code on the assigned platform and respective integrations in collaboration with other technical team members

  • Able to understand unique business and technical requirements of the engagement and facilitate communications on the most appropriate solution design

  • Act as the main technical point of contact and SME for clients on project work

  • Attend and participate in stand-up meetings and report technical blockers to the Project Manager and or Project leadership team

  • Attend sprint planning and retrospective meetings

  • Bring industry and domain best practices and methodologies in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Management, Integrations, Business Intelligence, and Analytics

  • Collaborate on the design and development of the appropriate solution with Verndale Project/Delivery team

  • Conduct architectural analysis and evaluation of business processes

  • Conduct internal and customer training

  • Consult, inform and engage internal, external and client resources in understanding and presenting appropriate options

  • Define the overall MDM solution for a customer, assist in setting delivery guidelines, prepare and review detailed designs for accuracy and overall compliance to defined solution

  • Demonstrate respect for and responsiveness to our clients and colleagues

  • Design and plan testing for the impact assessment of the solution functionality

  • Determine implementation approach based on Solution Design

  • Ensure implementation, deployment and backup is done following Verndale standards

  • Evaluate and perform Customizations necessary to complete client solutions and implementations

  • Experience with Print functionality from a PIM implementation.

  • Guides client’s business and technology teams to envision, design and develop strategies for Master Data Management implementation, governance, rollouts, etc.

  • Independently manage assigned tasks.

  • Lead technical documentation efforts and creation of epics, user stories, and or tasks utilizing JIRA.

  • Lead the resolution of all requirements/feedback/scoping/design issues or questions directly with the clients.

  • Lead the technical planning and requirements gathering phases including estimations, development, testing, and delivery.

  • Organize, plan and facilitate the discovery, design, test and implementation activities with MDM clients and members of Verndale delivery team.

  • Performs code audits and reviews as required.

  • Produce detailed design documentation, unit test plans and well documented code.

  • Provide input and direction to other Verndale/MDM team members to enable their successful contribution aligned to the strategist's experience and solution.

  • Responsible for conducting and participating in Solution Reviews (both internally and for partners)

  • Serve as a Technical Lead and mentor. Provide technical support or leadership during development and continual improvement of service.

  • Understand Cloud framework, dev and deployment strategy (as most platforms are now cloud hosted).

  • Validates the design and implementation of the overall Infrastructure and performs the build and maintenance of the environments.

  • Work with the MDM Practice Director on the continuous growth and development of the practice.

  • Works with Analyst assigned to each client engagement on deliverables.

  • Works with Project Manager (PM) regarding scope, tasks, and resourcing


  • 5-7 years of demonstrated experience leading and delivering MDM (Product, Customer or other domain) solutions.

  • 8-10 years of professional services and consultative experience.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other development team members as well as customers.

  • At least 2 years of experience as a business analysis.

  • At least 2 years of experience as a project team lead.

  • At least 3 years of experience delivering IT Services and/or Consulting projects within a consulting organization to multiple clients.

  • At least 3 years of experience with database technologies.

  • At least 3 years of experience with hands-on creation and updates of data models.

  • At least 3 years of experience with hands-on implementation of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions utilizing one of the major MDM solutions (Informatica MDM, Stibo Systems, Winshuttle, InRiver, Riversand PIM). This also includes any print module and Digital Asset Management tools.

  • At least 3 years of experience with Java / J2EE technologies or a similar language.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on development experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience with large and complex data management projects.

  • Demonstrated experience documenting "as is" and "to be" workflows and processes.

  • Exhibits personal responsibility.

  • Experience with estimating and project planning preferred.

  • Experience with other technologies (SQL, .NET Core, React, Angular, Typescript, etc..) a plus.

  • Experience working in a multi-client setting highly preferred.

  • Full life-cycle development experience – with Agile/Scrum/Waterfall/Hybrid project approach.

  • Knowledge of version control systems, web development experience.

  • Mature work ethic, self-starter and collaborative team member.

  • Passionate coder with at least 3-5 years of C# and .NET software application development experience.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, Data visualization and other digital tools & presentation tools.

  • Proven ability to understand, contribute to and work within a structure project delivery methodology including managing billable hour requirements and internal time-tracking.

  • Related college degree in Computer science or systems preferred.

  • Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design.

  • Strategic data-base analysis, problem solving and solution development skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong domain knowledge and context to understand client models and solutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Utilization of web services/APIs, consuming JSON/XML data (third party integrations).

  • Work on existing applications as well as designing and developing new products and solutions.

  • A plus if you have the following:

  • Demonstrated understanding of multi-channel distribution business models.

  • Specific domain knowledge/experience with Global Data Synchronization Network/GDSN, TWorldSync, Syndication.

  • Past Product Taxonomy experience

  • Strong leadership and consultative delivery skills including:

  • Enterprise Product Data Strategy and multi-phase roadmaps.

  • Executive and Team-Level client facilitation and communication.

  • Technical and internal delivery-team mentorship and communication.

  • Solution development, scope definition and solution estimation.

  • Strong relationship management skills (team members and clients)

  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization.
