The Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure reports to the Chief Information Office and manages a small team. The Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure must perform both hands-on engineering and administration as well as partner with and direct ITSM vendors to be successful. Responsibilities: * Manage the day-to-day operations of the Treasury’s IT infrastructure, including network management, server administration and storage management. * Identify priorities and develop goals for team. Manage projects and deliverables to deliver projects on schedule, on budget, and meet technological objectives. * Assess existing and emerging technologies and identify opportunities for infrastructure improvement. * Manage a small team including systems administrator and systems analyst. * Perform hands-on system engineering and administration duties as necessary including maintaining and updating existing and new systems and software. * Develop and maintain effective backup and recovery plans across the Treasury’s different technology platforms. * Lead critical incident response for infrastructure issues. Drive root cause analysis. * Manage and monitor licensing and hosting agreements, hardware and software needs. * Ensure the Treasury meets all mandated security and compliance standards such as Treasury and Mass IT security policies, regulations, guidelines. * Partner with and manage the Treasury’s key technology support vendors, including EOTSS, ITSM vendor, and Networking and Telecommunications support vendor. * Manage, prepare and update systems documentation. Technologies Managed: * Windows Active Directory, including multi-site topology, LDAP, DNS * Microsoft Windows Server, versions 2012 through 2022 * AWS; * EC2 virtualization * FSx, S3 storage, storage gateways, virtual tape interfaces * Backup and replication from onsite to AWS * AWS architecture including use of security groups * VMWare vSphere version 7 * Dell RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines * Dell VxRail hyper-converged hardware platforms * Networking including switches, routers, firewalls, WIFI, DHCP; * The Treasury has a vendor which performs most hands-on network management. * Arcserve backup software * UPS systems and power management * ManageEngine Endpoint Central and ServiceDesk Plus Qualifications: * 15 Years of network and systems engineering and administration experience * Proficiency with the technologies listed under Technologies Managed or their equivalent * Demonstrated ability to manage a small team * Demonstrated project management skills * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing, including the ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences * Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills * Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail * Strong desire to learn and develop new skills * Relevant industry-accepted certifications a plus * Ability to be on-call for major events and issues Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift up to 10lbs * Ability to sit for extended periods of time Hybrid Work Environment: All new hires at the Office of the State Treasurer and Receiver General (Treasury) will go through an In-Office Orientation Period consisting of a combination of virtual, in-person and on-the-job training so as to assimilate you to the Treasury’s culture and work environment. Following the initial In-Office Orientation Period a gradual transition to hybrid work will take place over the first 3-8 weeks of employment. The hybrid work environment will consist of a minimum of two (2) days in the office each week, with one of these days being either a Monday or a Friday. There will be an additional (1) day in the office per month for a mandatory in person department meeting. Hybrid work arrangement is based on business needs of the department.
