How will you make an impact?

We are looking for an innovated data engineer to join our remote team and advance our people analytics function! The Sr. Data Engineer will support and continuously improve a robust AWS cloud-based data infrastructure that is used to improve workforce decisions that drive business performance and growth at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

What will you do?

  • Designs, develops and implements ETL and database back-end architecture for data-intensive applications.

  • Collaborates with users and product owners to resolve use cases and translates business needs to technical requirements.

  • Builds solutions to support business intelligence and business process automation initiatives.

  • Shares knowledge and trains others on skills and competencies.

  • Documents end-to-end the data movement and data lineage used to create user facing solutions.

  • Applies deep understanding of data security applied to end-user data access.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer or data science, engineering, or a related field; or work experience equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience working with business intelligence solutions preferably with Microsoft tool stack (SQL Server, Power BI, DAX).

  • Experience developing in cloud environment; Amazon Web Services preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Writes advanced SQL including query tuning.

  • Experience with version control and project management software (e.g., Git, JIRA).

  • Verbal and written skills to support data discovery and documentation.
