Meta Senior Fullstack Engineer - BigBox in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary:

You are a talented Full Stack Software Engineer looking to build the next generation of VR games. You have multiple years of experience with the Unity Editor (or other 3D game engines like Unreal) and familiar with multiplayer engineering design patterns.- Strong communicator who loves the iterative technical and creative process- Desire to understand a product holistically and contribute creatively- Know when to be pragmatic and when to be blue sky- Make engineering trade-offs that align with business objectives- Possess wily and unconventional thinking- Must embrace teamwork, as well as solve problems independently- Eager to roll up your sleeves to make contributions outside of your specialty

Required Skills:

Senior Fullstack Engineer - BigBox Responsibilities:

  1. Create VR software within a highly dynamic and iterative team environment

  2. Design, develop, test and maintain quality code and documentation

  3. Work as a team, contributing to important design decisions and conversations

  4. Develop prototypes and experiments, while researching and recommending novel ideas, new tools, and technologies

  5. Test and support the game as a service

  6. Collaborate with artists and engineers to implement new developments, help build features, and solve creative problems

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of experience in software development or equivalent experience

  2. Proven experience with 3D game engines, ie: Unity, Unreal, etc.

  3. Must have experience completing a ship cycle for a product

  4. Experience with network programming related to game design

  5. Experienced working in self-managed, fast-paced environments

  6. Experienced rapidly learning new systems and devices

  7. Effective communication skills

  8. Bachelor in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Strong background in AR or VR

  2. Comfortable working with Linux for app servers

  3. Experience with networking tool set like Photon, UNet, or Mirror

Public Compensation:

$147,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
