Job Summary

Working as a Senior Executive Chef for Chartwells will allow you the opportunity to work with GREAT people like yourself! You will lead culinary operations by implementing your leadership skills in the hospitality industry through the vision and values of both the organization and our campus leadership. You will ensure guest satisfaction through our dining and catering programs with on trend authentic and diverse cuisine. Your success in this role will be driven by managing an efficient, safe and sanitary food production system, and leading by example. You will be responsible for assisting our campus dining programs with menu development, inventory, purchasing, food cost controls and staff management and development of new programming. A major function of this role will include monitoring culinary goals and daily interactions with students, guests, clients and dining employees on various campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops high culinary standards for our retail and resident dining locations, including catering operations

  • Supports culinary programs on various campuses by regularly interacting with our employees

  • Trains, develops and provides inspirational leadership to the local culinary team

  • Provides culinary project management leadership

  • Leads Corporate Social Responsibility, food seasonality, health/wellness and high-quality culinary arts on campus or within a district

  • Analyzes ongoing performance and trends in the local operation and works with the team to devise and lead improvements

  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and is able to explain them to customers accurately

  • Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures as evidenced through local health department and third-party audits

  • Follows facility, department, and Company safety policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills required.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while meeting established deadlines and goals

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Services Technology/Management/or related field preferred but not required

  • Five to seven years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience with multi-serviced and complex dining locations, depending upon formal degree or training

  • Experience with planning and managing catering events from a culinary perspective

  • Understanding of cost controls and menu development

  • Strong leadership skills and desire to work with an industry leader

  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation

  • Proficient computer skills is required (Microsoft Office 365, Email and the Internet)

  • Ability to communicate on various levels including management, departmental, customer and associate

  • ServSafe┬« Certification
