Job Summary:

The Senior Director of Operational Excellence (OpX) partners with operations and other functional teams to elevate the student experience, support exceeding client expectations, and drive profitability and margin accretion through establishing new, and refining current food production performance and cost management through strategy, standards, systems, and processes. They enable the activation, deployment and ongoing maintenance of the food production performance essentials while measuring desired impact through analyzing and communicating results. They establish and maintain performance-based relationships with operators built on trust, transparency, honesty, and partnership.

This role requires the ability to travel of 50%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and effectively communicating solutions that are built within a framework with flexibility to exceed our student and client needs while ensuring consistent scalability and repeatability

  • Improving efficiencies and removing complexities

  • Leading a multi-functional team for strategy, development, innovation, and maintenance for food performance initiatives

  • Synthesizing and applying insights and the translation of data from multiple sources to drive strategic innovation for increased consumer satisfaction and improved margin

  • Aligning success measures, analyzing results, and communicating outcomes

  • Creating content for field facing operator training for multiple audiences and collaborating with operators to determine the best format for adoptability and ongoing utilization

  • Effectively engage with team to share experiences, insight, peer coaching/feedback, and in the on-boarding new team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or related field, or equivalent degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of fifteen years’ operational leadership experience, demonstrating performance and progressively increased management responsibility

  • A food service professional with multi-dimensional capability: strategy, development, operations, and communications

  • Possesses strong strategic thinking skills, with an emphasis on developing solutions and delivering measurable results

  • Demonstrated record of managing with collaboration that enables decisions to be made with consideration of financial growth, consumer satisfaction and engagement

  • Result-oriented individual who takes initiative to lead without formal authority and to work effectively in an unstructured, fast-paced and P&L driven environment

  • Proactive and positive; interacts professionally with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers, clients, and customers

  • Flexible in attitude and style to adapt to situations in a transformational, dynamic environment

  • Possess courage and conviction and the ability to effectively work in a growing sector

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operational Excellence and partners with operations teams and functional teams (Culinary, Marketing, Communications, HR, and Foodbuy).
