Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) is part of the Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) and supplies innovative solutions for microscopy, spectroscopy and microanalysis. Using scanning and transmission electron microscopes, Dual Beam™ FIB-SEMs, and spectrometers, combined with advanced software suites, our customers can go from questions to usable data by combining high-resolution imaging with physical, elemental, chemical, and electrical analysis. This position can be located (remote) anywhere in the United States.

How will you make an impact?

The Business Data Analyst is a member of the Global Commercial Operations team. Primary deliverables are creating reports, setting up dashboards, and improving current reports/dashboards. The Business Data Analyst is also responsible for day to day support and training of reporting tools as required. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who is customer oriented and is accustomed to providing support for a global organization.

What will you do?

  • Work with executives and other business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Create reports for internal teams and/or external clients

  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data

  • Use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data

  • Design metrics measuring process effectiveness and efficiency, and tying KPI to business impact

  • Structure large data sets to find usable information

  • Work with a team of analysts, IT, and other associates to process information

  • Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings

How will you get here?


  • Minimum requirement is a bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related degree.


  • 5+ years of experience providing customer support in a global sales and marketing organization

  • 5+ years of experience with CRM and ERP software is preferred

  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and implementing reporting solutions

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Reporting and data visualization skills using software like Power BI or other similar data visualization tools

  • Understanding of data warehousing

  • Technical writing skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
