Description

The Automated Reasoning Group is looking for a Senior Applied Scientist with expertise in programming language semantics and deductive verification techniques (e.g. Lean, Dafny) to deliver novel code reasoning capabilities at scale. You will be part of a larger organization that develops a spectrum of formal software analysis tools and applies them to software at all levels of abstraction from assembler through high-level programming languages. You will work with a team of world class automated reasoning experts to deliver code reasoning technology that is powerful yet accessible to all developers.

About the team

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

• Experience in formal verification tools and techniques, such as theorem provers (Dafny, Lean), SAT-SMT solvers

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field

• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

• Experience in compiler technologies
