Position Summary

The Financial Research Director will partner with Huron Business Advisory practice and executive leadership team to define, develop, and support the execution of sales enablement and marketing plans and continually refine the targeted list of potential referral sources. This position will play a crucial role within our Business Advisory practice, driving our sales efforts by providing deep financial research insights (identifying holdings, activity, analyzing trends, assessing market performance, etc.) and strategic support for sales meetings and potential opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop a more robust, analytical sales pipeline process

• Identify potential prospect/target companies using a broad range of research tools

• Work with the practice to ensure the correct and complete employment of Salesforce to track opportunities

• Capture win / loss rates and lead the analysis and the dissemination of ideas to improve sales funnel

• Responsible for Salesforce training, deployment, optimization and reporting

• Provide regular analytics and reports on the yield from various referral sources

• Work with practice to ensure Salesforce reflects the current organizational structures of our targeted referral sources and both develop and oversee a contact management plan to improve our yield from those sources

Improve the effectiveness of marketing efforts

• Ensure Huron marketing is continually updated as to our targeted referral sources and our ongoing yield

• Partner with Huron marketing to develop action items for practice leader and executive leadership team to review and approve

• Oversee and coordinate all events and functions for the practice – work closely with the marketing team, the HBA professionals, HBA Executive Assistants and others to both define and refine an event (budget, ROI).

Improve both the quantity, quality and the success of the practice’s marketing efforts

• Directly develop focused pitch materials to proactively offer solutions and highlight relevant cases to each referral source

• Work closely with the Managing Director and / or Senior Director developing the presentation to improve our ability to deliver engaging and impactful pitches

• In this capacity, the successful candidate will work closely with practice’s Chief of Staff to also leverage our other professionals as they are available to help prepare and construct impactful pitch materials

• Monitor and help manage next steps and action plans from these meetings

• Monitor market developments for all HBA focus areas – and disseminate appropriate information as well as recommend action items based on that information

Additional responsibilities include:

• Conduct research and work with external research providers to ensure quality and timely delivery of financial, situation and performance analysis and research

• Collect and disseminate competitor and market intelligence to the practice.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior-level financial research, financial advisory or consulting, or finance-related sales enablement role.

  • Strong background in financial analysis, with experience in restructuring & turnaround consulting, investment banking, or similar financial advisory roles highly desirable.

  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Proven track record of driving sales growth through strategic quantitative research and sales enablement initiatives.

  • Solid process improvement capabilities: documentation, measurement, and analysis

  • Exceptional and persuasive written and oral communication skills

  • Adept at multi-tasking within a high expectation and fast-paced environment

  • Experience with related tools such as Salesforce or Seismic is preferred

  • Candidates may live anywhere in the contiguous US – note this in a non-billable role with limited travel required.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $140,000 - $200,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $175,000 - $270,000. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
