Job Information
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Research Technician - Wu Lab in Boston, Massachusetts
A full-time position is available for a highly motivated research technician to contribute to a research project investigating therapeutic vaccines for cancer, with a focus on targeting tumor neoantigens using novel vaccine platforms. Using molecular biology, cellular immune assays, and mouse models of cancer, the goal is to understand the determinants of vaccine efficacy and to translate these findings into a clinical trial of neoantigen vaccines for patients with solid tumors.
The laboratory uses a variety of techniques in molecular biology, immunology, cell culture, high-throughput screening, immunopeptidomics, single-cell technologies, and mouse modeling of cancer. Under the supervision of a senior scientist, the technician will be responsible for maintaining cell cultures over time and performing routine cellular quality control assays; isolating and characterizing nucleic acid libraries encoding vaccine antigens; producing, cryopreserving, and evaluating the quality of cellular vaccine products; inducing, measuring, and collecting solid tumors in mice, and evaluating the immunogenicity and efficacy of vaccines in naïve and tumor-bearing mice. Training is available in all techniques necessary for the project, and experience with basic cell culture and molecular biology is strongly preferred.
