Boston University RESEARCH STUDY ASSISTANT, School of Medicine, Slone Epidemiology Center in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Slone Epidemiology Centers Pediatric Research Group is hiring a Bilingual (English and Spanish-speaking) Research Assistant to assist in the conduct of several pediatric/maternal and child health epidemiologic and randomized control trial research studies that enroll English and Spanish-speaking participants. These studies are primarily focused on identifying factors affecting infant care, and testing interventions designed to increase adherence to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) infant care recommendations for infant safe sleep and breastfeeding. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and training of study sites; tracking participant enrollment and study progress and following up with study participants in English and Spanish by phone, email, text, and/or mail; assisting with preparation of all study materials; data collection and quality assurance; and assisting with reporting to the research team.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated attention to detail are required.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish is required, with a strong preference for native Spanish speakers.

  • A candidate with interest and/or research experience in maternal and child health and knowledge of MS Office applications is preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Access databases, data tracking/reporting, REDCap, WordPress, and Canva are all encouraged.

  • Some travel to study sites may be necessary.
