Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collect Quality data and/or information based on applicable standards, state/federal or other regulations, customer requests, internal requests, or project assignments

  • Investigate Quality problems identified, collect additional information to close gaps identified, monitor changes through steady state

  • Work cross functionally and coordinate with others internally or externally to gather information; overcome challenges to obtaining needed quality information

  • Identify Quality improvement opportunities and work cross-functionally to develop interventions and recommendations. Lead quality improvement projects, review results, conduct analyses (e.g., evaluate against goals/effectiveness of interventions over time), and prepare reports on findings to

  • committees, leadership, client, external stakeholders

  • Develop or update work plans (e.g., annual work plan), program descriptions (e.g., annual program descriptions), program evaluations (e.g., annual program evaluation)

  • Develop, update, and/or review job aids and policies and procedures

  • Work cross-functionally evaluating process and procedures, making recommendations or clarifying information to assist in closing gaps that are identified or meeting customer expectations

  • Lead, manage, and actively participate in various quality meetings and program meetings both with internal and external stakeholders

  • Educate, motivate, and/or influence others (e.g., leadership, other stakeholders, including those for whom there is no direct line of authority) to understand the overall scope, overcome potential barriers, and engage in and commit to the process

Required Qualifications:

  • Possess one of the following certifications: Six Sigma, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Professional (QAPI) OR Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

  • 5+ years of direct quality management responsibility for Medicaid LTSS programs

  • 5+ years of management experience with demonstrated ability to navigate a team, including engagement of business sponsors, through full cycles of quality program performance from design conception to reporting of successful outcomes

  • 2+ years of experience leading project teams

  • 2+ years of experience in external client facing role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret standards/requirements and/or technical specifications (e.g., structure and process, CMS star ratings, , URAC, NCQA/HEDIS/ CAHPS/member satisfaction specifications, SNP

C alifornia, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
