Agile Project Manager

As an Agile Project Manager you are involved in supporting strategic initiatives for the laboratory, defining tasks and timelines, coordinating across departments, managing budgets, and ensuring timely delivery. You are responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of projects ensuring consistency with organizational strategy, commitments, and goals. This includes coordinating efforts for teams and third-party resources in order to deliver projects, and to define the project's objectives and oversee quality of deliverables and products. This position works closely with the People and Business Digital Platform Manager and teams supporting HR and Finance capabilities. The Agile Project Manager also ensures that the Agile project management framework is followed. Specifically, the candidate must demonstrate the following:

  • Manages mid-sized projects that have increasing levels of complexity, including cross-directorate engagement, S&T challenges, medium to high risk, and/or strategic business impact.

  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of effective project management practices and principles and demonstrates proficiency in applying a disciplined approach to project management

  • Have ability to drive and influence Agile project management methodology and practices.

  • Lead Agile delivery team to meet project objectives.

  • Strong user story development skills.

  • Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills, efficiently multi-tasks, and successfully communicates with both internal and external project stakeholders.

  • Drive and track interdependencies across work streams, communicate status and maintain team metrics.

  • Develop work estimates and resource allocations using agile techniques.

  • Effectively assess project risks, opportunities, and develop contingency plans.

  • Have demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate Agile ceremonies (E.g. stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews & retrospectives).

  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and provide escalation management.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Manages with integrity to lead task and project plan development, build cohesive teams, and steward process improvements.

  • Has a demonstrated ability to manage sensitive business situations and influence positive outcomes.

  • Effectively guide and mentor junior level staff.

  • Manage project’s budget, monitor progress, and evaluate project performance.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA and 9+ years of relevant project management experience -OR-

  • MS/MA or higher and 7+ years of relevant project management experience
