The Program Director will hire, train, and supervise a group of graduate interns as success coaches for a caseload of MassArt students. Each Success Coach will work collaboratively with students to set goals, create action plans, develop skills and determine what success means to them using an individualized strengths based approach. Success Coaches will supplement the work of a student's faculty advisor. In addition to assisting with course and major exploration, success coaches will meet with students for more holistic support including time management, follow up on attendance issues, assistance with class assignments, and directing students to the appropriate resources. Each coach will have several touch points throughout the first year with the goal of creating a sense of connection to a staff member for each student. Reporting to the Associate Dean for the Academic Resource Center, The Program Director for Student Success Initiatives will supervise Success Coaches to ensure consistent and coherent messaging and support. The Program Director will work closely with departments across campus to identify and meet the needs for student success. These departments include but are not limited to Health and Wellbeing, Counseling, Justice Equity and Transformation (JET), Academic Affairs, Career Development, and Housing and Residence Life. ALL APPLICANTS MUST APPLY THROUGH* https://massart.interviewexchange.com/static/clients/576MAM1/index.jsp* Summary of Duties: * Work with local graduate programs (MSW, Higher Ed Administration, Guidance Counseling, etc.) and the MassArt Graduate Program to secure interns for yearlong appointments as Success Coaches/Interns. * Interview, hire and supervise interns * Train interns in skills necessary for college student success (ie. Time management, communication, self-advocacy, attendance, etc.) * Complete necessary supervisor assignments and training, as determined by the graduate programs * Meet regularly with interns and encourage the creation of ongoing connection with the students in their caseload * Collaborate with the Advising team and first year faculty to meet advising goals * Participate as a member of the ARC team and the Division of Student Development in supporting the holistic development of our student body; * Utilize software and administrative systems, including retention and student records management tools (i.e. CRM Advise, Ellucian Colleague, Ellucian Student Planning, etc.) * Perform other duties as assigned (i.e. Search Committees, Governance Committee, projects, etc.) Requirements: Master's degree required in the fields of Higher Education, School Counseling, Education, or related field * 3 to 5 years prior experience working with students in a supervisory capacity * Demonstrated success in creating and delivering educational programs, which enhance the student experience, elicit engagement and increase learnings * Knowledge of LMS and CRM technology is required * Highly effective interpersonal skills * Ability to work well with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds * Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner. * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
