Manulife Product Owner - Long-Term Care Health & Prevention in Boston, Massachusetts

John Hancock is currently redefining our Long-Term Care business to help our customers age in place and receive the care that they need. This team focuses on the delivery of solutions that create and support engaging and streamlined experiences for our customers, producers, and employees, leveraging vendors, digital platforms and/or solutions.

The Product Owner will be dedicated to driving our Long-Term Care wellness strategies in an agile delivery model. They will act as the voice of the business and voice of the customer for the major components of the Long-Term Care Health & Prevention strategy. This role contributes to the realization of the Long-Term Care Health & Prevention strategy, vision, and OKRs by aligning and prioritizing business goals with actionable results.

  • Brings a level strategic view to lead tactical delivery of key activities, aligned to the LTC Customer Care Transformation

  • Drives the strategy, planning and delivery of key capabilities for the Long-Term Care Health & Prevention Team

  • Collaborates closely with business stakeholders and third-party partners to achieve business priorities & initiatives

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to drive John Hancock's LTC transformation and strategic priorities in the Health & Wellness pillar. Act as a representative for the team in cross-functional initiatives, identify and raise any issues, and provide recommendations to uphold priorities.

  • Focuses on tactical delivery of products or product components, aligned to priorities.

  • Drives the strategy, planning and delivery of key capabilities aligned to the customer journey.

  • Collaborates closely with business partners and cross-functional teams to achieve business priorities and implement pivotal initiatives.

  • Communicates strategic priorities to internal and external partners, providing context, focus, and inspiration.

  • Create and maintain accurate initiative reporting and metrics.

  • Provide regular project updates to various leadership audiences.

  • Support the implementation of a strategic planning framework and process that engages leaders in effective strategic dialogues, decision-making and planning.

  • Analyze data and work with management to develop creative solutions.

  • Coordinate recommended process changes, enhancements and implementations including pilot and test plans to validate proof of concepts and gain learnings.

  • Serve as the liaison between business units, including Information Systems, Human Centered Design, Marketing, and Advanced Analytics, while representing both the business and customer to ensure satisfaction.

  • Maintains a good understanding of business, customer, and end-user problems, needs, and preferences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a business role ad project management, previous or active role as a Product Owner strongly preferred.

  • Business knowledge and understanding of Long-Term Care insurance and understanding of wellness and health programs for the aging population.

  • Understanding of geriatric care services (Home Health Care, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, etc.).

  • Proficient in analyzing complex problems and finding viable solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing solutions that drive business results.

  • Experience building digital capabilities, taking ownership of deliverables, executing and driving initiatives.

  • Strong user story requirement gathering and documentation skills.

  • Partner management and communication skills in defining outcomes, communicating progress, and facilitating planning meetings.

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Good understanding of project management methodologies and workflow design

  • Understanding of system design and analysis and user testing.

  • Exceptional organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders representing a broad range of functions and levels.

Salary range is expected to be between

$71,550.00 USD - $119,250.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
