Pearson Principal Scheduler in Boston, Massachusetts

Role Summary

As the Principal Scheduler, you will be responsible for creating and managing Pearson’s end-to-end project schedules for multiple projects/programs across School Assessment. You will ensure the schedules accurately reflect scope for all internal and customer deliverables. You will also monitor and enforce that tasks are completed on-time, to meet both internal and customer deadlines.

To be successful, we need you to:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact to establish schedules that align to scope, process, resources, and both internal and customer deadlines.

  • Collaborate, internally, to establish schedules that allow functional teams to allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.

  • Work with functional project management teams and portfolio project management teams to monitor schedule progress weekly.

  • Ensure that schedule best practices and procedures are being followed consistently across all project schedules.

  • Negotiate across functional departments, as needed, to keep project schedules on the critical path.

  • Contribute to process and design enhancements that can result in more efficient scheduling across School Assessment.

  • Identify and help manage risks and incidents related to schedule.

  • Facilitate project-specific Post Project Review process.

In addition, you will possess the following skills:

  • Strong communication skills and able to facilitate large meetings and negotiating across teams.

  • You are a self-motivated learner with a willingness to learn new and existing offerings across Pearson School Assessment.

  • You have positive relationship building and business partnership skills; you collaborate well with project team members for the lifecycle of the project.

What experience you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree is desirable but relatable experience in a similar role is essential.

  • Previous experience working in project administration is required.

  • Scheduling experience is essential.

  • A background with Smartsheet is highly preferred.

  • A background in assessment is preferred.

  • Experience analyzing data, following processes and procedures, and collaborating with others.

What can Pearson offer you?

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The full-time salary range is between $63,000 - $73,000.
