The Department of Dermatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking to recruit a full-time Medical Dermatologist. There is an anticipated start date of on or about September 1, 2018
Our department provides unique opportunities for medical dermatologist to teach and practice at the Medical Center in the Longwood Medical Area and/or our department’s state of the art practices in the surrounding communities. As a principal Harvard teaching hospital, we provide training for Harvard residents and medical students in dermatology and other fields. This role is an employment model position in the Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. (HMFP).
Your initial clinical responsibilities will comprise 8 sessions (half days) per week. The days and sites will be spread among current BIDMC Dermatology practices, taking into account your preferences and the needs of the department. You will also share in responsibilities as the attending for the inpatient consult service for up to 1.5 months per year, plus a share of the Holiday coverage and on-call evenings and weekends. You will be able to use our shared space in Gryzmish building as you need for academic purposes. On an academic level, we look forward to you participating in the teaching of medical students, residents, associates and fellows as appropriate to the educational mission of the Department. We also require attendance and participation in BIDMC Faculty Meetings and Grand Rounds and other appropriate scholarly conferences and/or meetings.
Candidates should have excellent clinical skills, a passion for teaching, and working with residents and students. The candidate should be board eligible or certified and eligible for appointment at Harvard Medical School. A commitment to the values of an academic environment is required and research is encouraged.
