  • Fully Remote

    Position:

    Pharmacy/Point-of-Sale (POS) Helpdesk Technician. This position requires flexibility as our Ohio Medicaid Pharmacy Help Desk operates on a 24/7 basis and is responsible for responding to calls from healthcare professionals regarding the Preferred Drug List (PDL), processing of prior authorizations, and handling pharmacy claims/overrides. Must have a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drug names and be able to apply policies and business rules relative to this process.

    Core Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for responding to calls from providers, including physicians, pharmacists, and technicians regarding the processing of prior authorizations or pharmacy claims.

  • Responsible for processing PA requests which includes utilizing the software package and manual interventions as necessary.

  • Must be able to adhere to schedule, as process is time-sensitive.

  • Must have a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drug names and be able to apply policies and business rules relative to this process.

  • Will support roles dealing with all aspects of claims processing and customer service such as evaluating paper claims, pricing and requests for services. Additional responsibilities as assigned.

    Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in a pharmacy environment as a pharmacy technician

  • Experience in an office environment, excellent organizational skills and phone etiquette; ability to multi-task, and proven customer services skills

  • Must be familiar with current computer systems and technology, including MS Word and Excel.

  • High school diploma or GED

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Technician coursework a plus

  • Computer coursework a plus
