What is the job about?

Grundfos is seeking an experienced Municipal Market OEM Sales Manager to join its Water Utility – Wastewater & Water Network, USA & Canada sales team. The OEM Sales Manager is responsible for a defined area of primary responsibility, or APR (geography, markets, and accounts), the Muni OEM Sales Manager’s role is to grow the Grundfos Muni OEM business by defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling the activities within their APR. The APR is all distribution touchpoints within USA and Canada. The Muni OEM Sales Manager reports to the Area Sales Manager and participates as an active member of the regional sales team. The Municipal Market OEM Sales Manager will operate remotely out of their home office and must reside near a major US airport.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities:

  • The Muni OEM Sales Manager is responsible for selling to existing and potential accounts following the Grundfos Sales Excellence program. The Muni OEM Sales Manager will provide sales support to CSSC in order to participate in closing an order or to facilitate and add value to the selling process.

  • Lead Retrieval Tool (LRT) follow-up with OEM partners to improve hit rate, increase sales, and provide feedback on quality of leads and improvement to LRT process.

  • Identifying and pursuing potential OEM accounts focused on the Muni market utilizing available market data from distribution partners, LinkedIn, news publications etc. to identify and qualify prospects for the APR.

  • Utilize internal marketing data (LRT & GTI) to mine and qualify accounts for their APR.

  • Utilizing any additional resources as determined through the course of the job to identify and qualify prospects.

  • The Municipal OEM Sales Manager is responsible for providing an added, higher level of support for Accounts within their APR, such as expediting, urgent quoting, etc.

  • The Municipal OEM Sales Manager will service the OEM Accounts as the “backup” to the CSSC, and will be heavily involved with the identified OEM Accounts. This will require a collaborative effort with the CSSC to ensure we provide outstanding service and support to the OEM accounts.

  • The Municipal OEM Sales Manager will work closely with the Area Sales Director to follow up on projects and keep the ASD and customer updated.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

A strong background in a technical discipline with an engineering degree preferred Business and/or marketing classes are a plus. In addition to 5-10 years pump experience preferred.

  • Professional sales skills, including key account strategies and plans.

  • Experience with sales/data analysis and forecasting

  • Knowledge of the market segment to which the Municipal OEM Sales Manager is assigned and a general knowledge of the other Grundfos target markets

  • Demonstrated knowledge of pumps and pumping systems, rotating equipment including electronically controlled pump systems (VFD, controllers, etc.) for the target market to which they are assigned

  • Ability to develop and deliver effective product presentations at all levels of management and for all sizes of audiences for both internal and external customers

  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills

  • Ability to manage individual expense budget and work with regional team to plan and stay within the regional expense budget

  • Excellent PC skills with above average knowledge and use of Microsoft Office application programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as a good aptitude for learning and applying new systems and programs

  • A willingness to travel up to 50% if necessary. As a result, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification
