The Team and Job Summary

We are seeking a Managing Director to join our Global Turnaround and Restructuring Practice team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the Global Turnaround and Restructuring Practice team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Managing Director. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of global turnaround and restructuring but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.

Held’s Global Turnaround and Restructuring Practice provides companies and their investors, legal counsel, financial institutions, with the information required to make well-informed business decisions.. With experts located across the globe, we support clients in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East.

Our Turnaround and Restructuring Practice has openings available at the Managing Director level. The candidate will join an experienced and closely-knit team of turnaround & restructuring professionals, with deep experience in leading, planning and solving the most complex client situations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leading the turnaround of our clients;

  • Interim management assignments with our clients, potentially including roles of CFO, COO, CEO and CRO;

  • Development and implementation of operating plans designed to achieve our client’s goals and objectives as they work through their various transition challenges;

  • Management and leadership of operational reviews and support in the financial reviews of our business clients that will range in various forms of transition;

  • Leadership and completion of various forms of assignments relating to our Investor Services practice including operational due diligence, supply chain evaluation, integration planning and others as may be required of our client(s);

  • Remain available to provide financial and/or operational insight and support execution leadership in certain instances for investment banking clients relating to our Phoenix IB practice.

  • Production of written reports, often with tight deadlines;

  • Develop and further cultivate relationships within the legal, lending and investor communities in generating revenue opportunities for J.S. Held;

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement go to market strategies related to driving revenue growth;

  • Provide support in other ad-hoc tasks as requested.

    Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience within the turnaround & restructuring marketplace both in leading assignments and demonstrated abilities for business development.

  • Ability to delegate and lead multiple projects and mentor subordinate professional staff a must.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. Advanced degrees, such as JD or MBA, are a plus.

  • Strong organization and attention to detail skills.

  • Experienced working in challenging, often chaotic environments in leading client(s) to improved performance.

  • An ability to assess, develop, and plan a well-articulated turnaround plan.

  • Knowledge of bankruptcy is a plus.

  • Able to multi-task and meet deadlines;

  • This position requires travel to clients, at times extensive.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $200,000 - $230,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
