Valuation Managers serve as members of various client service teams. Managers must have strong technical knowledge of valuations of closely held companies, intangible assets, and debt instruments for financial statement reporting and tax purposes. Managers must possess and maintain strong written and oral presentation skills, conduct research on various client issues, and supervise Senior Associates and Associates. Valuation Managers will work on a variety of different types of valuation engagements, such as the following:

  • Valuation of intangible assets related to ASC 805 Business Combinations.

  • Impairment analyses of goodwill and indefinite lived intangible assets under ASC 350.

  • Valuation of common stock in closely-held companies for 409A purposes.

  • Discount studies and business valuations for gift and estate tax purposes.

  • Valuation of complex equity awards with market conditions under ASC 718.

  • Valuation of complex derivative liability instruments for financial reporting purposes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field;

  • Advanced credential preferred (i.e. CFA, ASA, or CPA);

  • At least 5 plus years of relevant work experience with an accounting or consulting firm, including at least 3 years of Valuation experience;

  • Leadership and organizational skills;

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural facilitator;

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;

  • Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; and

  • Proficient use of technology including MS Excel.
