Position Summary
CVS Health is on a mission to transform healthcare. With a shared vision to make healthier easier, we are investing in new ways to care for our communities, built on the foundation of our brick-and-mortar footprint. In this environment, success for the Retail business depends on well-designed and effectively governed roles and responsibilities in the stores and field support ecosystem. As our business evolves, roles and responsibilities in the stores and field must adapt and change to drive outcomes and unlock value for the organization. As we seek to strengthen operational outcomes while providing meaningful work that differentiates us from other retail employers, empowering our people with the appropriate roles, responsibilities, and career pathing plays a critical role to business success.
The Manager, Field Support Workforce Governance, in partnership with and service to the appropriate cross-functional stakeholders, supports the governance, engagement, and performance of our Retail Field Ecosystem support roles, as well as our Total Store Staffing Strategy. An expert across our Retail colleague workforce, this person works closely with their pharmacy and front-store counterparts to build coherent support and guidance for Retail Field Leadership in times of change as well as steady-state. Comfortable both developing and delivering strategies that systemically enhance team performance, this person has a credible perspective on Retail hourly colleague staffing and career progression and is a SME on the sentiment and needs of our District-level support teams (DPCs, DTSMs, and DSPLs). In addition, this person supports the needs of the broader Retail Field ecosystem, e.g., annual goal-writing and stakeholder alignment, for DLs, RDs, etc.
The Manager, Field Support Workforce Governance, marries a commitment to improving colleague engagement, retention, and career pathing with a focus on operational tactics that drive awareness, alignment, and performance. This person is responsible to enforce and strengthen role clarity around job expectations, goals, and KPIs for field ecosystem support roles (e.g., DPCs, DTSMs, and DSPLs), and to keep these current as the business evolves, ensuring we are utilizing support roles to deliver the required operational and performance outcomes to unlock broader enterprise value. To that end, the Manager may develop proposals to design, test, and implement new or evolved roles for the field support ecosystem or Total Store Staffing to better position the organization for success. The ideal candidate therefore is comfortable with basic cost modeling and business case definition, pilot design and execution, and implementation planning and change management techniques.
With consummate organization, communication, and collaboration skills, the Manager, Field Support Workforce Governance effectively partners across Rx Regulatory, HR, Legal, IT, and Operations to deliver results that work seamlessly for our store and field teams. Discretion, judgment, and accountability are essential given the sensitive, impactful, and often confidential nature of the work.
