The MENTOR Network Manager, Cloud Solution Architecture in Boston, Massachusetts
As the Manager, Cloud Solution Architecture you will be responsible for technology leadership, framework and standards development, implementation guidance, and day-to-day development activities for MENTOR’s cloud development environment as MENTOR’s application and integration development needs expand rapidly. This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the US. This position will provide the necessary technology leadership to expand MENTORs existing application environment into AWS as we enable new and improved capabilities, integrate existing and new third-party applications, and expand through both acquisitions and organic growth.
Lead the design and implementation of software solutions using industry standard design patterns, with a focus on cloud development
Manage a development team of US-based permanent and contract application developers and coaching, teaching, and developing others in technical design, architecture, coding, quality assurance, and best practices for software development, with a focus on cloud architecture
Establish, manage, and optimize an agile, product driven approach for key capabilities that serve both internal and external users.

Lead the designs of software solutions using industry standard design patterns, with a focus on cloud development
Provide hands-on application design, development, and integration, as required
Work with peers to make architectural and design decisions in accordance with an IT strategic plan.Assists in determination of appropriate development platform for new or enhanced applications.
Provide estimates for project deliverables using multiple techniques to assist the project management staff to arrive at realistic schedules
Lead and manage design and development of multiple simultaneous projects
Provide project team members with a clear vision and purpose for a project and creates a positive tone and morale for the team. Motivate team members and build project team identity and cohesion. Effectively manage cross-discipline coordination and communication.
Share passion for staying current on technology trends, experiments with and learns new technologies, participate in external technology communities
Foster a positive and engaging work environment for your team and manage performance
Perform other related duties and activities as required.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
5+ years of progressively increasing responsibilities including technical leadership, application development, integration, technical analysis and technical project leadership.
One to three years developing and managing a professional technical team in a complex environment
Significant experience with AWS architecture and implementation features and their tradeoffs
Experience with application design and development in multiple programming languages and platforms outside of AWS
Experience with migrating legacy systems to the cloud
Experience with source control, Git preferred and with CI/CD build pipelines, Jenkins preferred
Ability to think creatively, and to inspire and motivate others to do so as well
Ability to thinking and act analytically and strategically to solve problems and recommend approaches and solutions
Ability to work collaboratively with both business and IT professionals
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and ability to work independently without detailed direction while managing sometimes conflicting priorities
Ability to perform under aggressive deadlines and effectively prioritize and motivate team members
Experience working in a SOX environment
Experience with Salesforce Platform (formerly Force.com) is a plus
Experience with ETL and integration tooling is a plus
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- AWS certification preferred
