Maxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a MammographyTechnologist to perform a variety of technical activities associated withthe performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.

EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

  • Explains mammography procedure to all patients; answers any patient questions or concerns

  • Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary. Calculate exposure factors, assist physicians.

  • Perform the quality control functions related to mammography.

  • Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality obtaining additional images as needed.

  • Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate. Explain procedures to patients.

  • Develop mammography film. Match with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.

  • Charge mammography procedures and supplies to the patient's medical record.

  • Assist in maintenance and compilation of statistical data

  • Adheres to all Maxim and worksite rules, policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

    MinimumRequirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology Program.

  • Current State License or Certificate, if required by state regulations or contract specifications.

  • Two (2) year of experience as a Mammographer preferred.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to accurately communicate with patients

  • Current BLS card.

  • Successful completion of testing process.

  • Current physical exam, if required by state regulations or contract specifications.

  • Current TB test or chest x-ray.

    Housingcan be very difficult to find on Nantucket, so NCH offers shared housing fortravelers while on assignment with us. Anyone staying in NCH housing will beplaced in a housing space without regard to race, color, religious creed,national origin, sex, age, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation,military service, genetic information, and/or other status protected under law.The Hospital will provide housing in whatever unit is available and has theright to move travelers to other housing as necessary. Each traveler willhave their own bedroom and share common areas with roommates. Please note thatfamily, friends and pets are not authorized to stay in NCH Housing unlessapproved prior to the assignment confirmation.
