The Colonnade Hotel LUC!E Drink + Dine // Now Hiring Seasoned Restaurant Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Local Bar. Global Kitchen. Neighborhood Charm. LUC!E Drink + Dine is a locally owned and operated restaurant located in the heart of Boston's Back Bay neighborhood next to the legendary Colonnade Hotel.  We are now seeking a highly qualified Restaurant Manager to join our team of lively, experienced restaurant professionals. This position will be instrumental in contributing to our fresh, high-quality cuisine and comfortable, upscale restaurant environment. The Seasoned Restaurant Manager supports the General Manager by helping to coordinate the activities of the restaurant, room service, and seasonal pool in a successful path of financials, staffing, and training, while also working in a fully cohesive manner with fellow hotel department heads. Some things to know about this position: * Support the Restaurant General Manager by interviewing, selecting, training, supervising, counseling and documenting staff when necessary for the efficient operation of the outlets.  Institute on going training programs to ensure that the highest quality service standards are being obtained. Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes.  Schedule, coach, and support staff in their work assignments. * Interact positively with guests promoting hotel facilities and services.  Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties. Provide support for the organization of special events in the restaurant. * Maintain positive rapport with all departments and attend relevant meetings. * Be present throughout the facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met.  Partner with the kitchen leadership to provide feedback on the appearance and quality of products.  * Maintain profitability of outlet to support overall hotel operation.  Control payroll and equipment costs (minimizing loss and misuse).  Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies and stocking shelves by stooping, bending, lifting heavy articles and reaching overhead.  Evaluate cost effectiveness of all aspects of operation.  Develop and implement cost saving and profit enhancing measures. * Utilize computer to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence.  Input and retrieve data and change computer procedures using complex series of key- punches to program system. Skills, Abilities and Experience needed to be successful * 5 years previous Food & Beverage and management experience. * Proven track record in training and developing staff in service delivery. * Excellent wine knowledge will be helpful. * Working knowledge of style service. * Thorough knowledge of Food and Beverage outlet operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction. * Decent skill in math using percentages and proficiency in excel will be helpful. * Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems. * Ability to remain calm and positive under pressure and deal graciously with stressful situations during busy periods. Physical Requirements:  Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.   Must be a self-starter with a great personality and strong skills.  Think you might be the right fit?
