The Boston University Wheelock College of Education and Human Development invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Sport and Performance Psychology, a concentration within the EdM and PhD in Counseling Programs. We seek candidates with a background in educating sport psychology graduate students, who have a thorough understanding of the Certified Mental Performance Consultant Certification, who have experience in applied sport practice and providing behavioral health interventions. The Department of Counseling Psychology and Applied Human Development, in which this program is housed, is a community of faculty and students who have a strong social justice orientation, and thus we are seeking a faculty member who shares this orientation. We believe that the cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to the distinction and excellence of our programs. To that end, we seek applicants with diverse experiences and perspectives to join a vibrant sport psychology program that supports faculty through professional development and engagement in community outreach and scholarship.

• Teach graduate level courses, including a year-long sport practicum course

Required Qualifications

• On the Registry of Approved Mentors and CMPC (Certified Mental Performance Consultant – AASP, Association of Applied Sport Psychology)

• Doctorate in Sport, Exercise, or Performance Psychology or Related Field. ABD candidates will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training in and experience providing mental health counseling

• Established record of teaching courses in Sport Psychology, Counseling, or related fields

• Established record of mentoring, supervising, or teaching students or professionals in Applied Sport Psychology

This Lecturer position begins Fall 2024. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
