The opportunity
The Business Strategy and Analytics team enables our organization to leverage data in every facet of the business, from operational needs to strategic planning. Individuals on this team leverage technical proficiencies and understanding of the business and the industry to implement systems, tools, automation, and data flow processes that allow our stakeholders to achieve their goals. The team is seeking an individual to own internal relationships with core lines of business, and leverage the knowledge gained to optimize and deliver tools that empower those groups to drive revenue. This individual will further manage all dynamic and real-time pricing efforts for associated products (e.g. tickets, partnership assets, parking), understanding business drivers and day-to-day process to serve as a trusted advisor that helps scale these activities, while also working to further data-driven decision making through model-based advanced analytics.
The department consists of three primary verticals: Integrations + Insights, Platforms, and Business Optimizations. Leadership of the third will be this individual’s primary responsibility, owning, managing, and optimizing various ongoing business cadences, using tools such as dashboards, models, and reports to ensure leadership is informed and empowered to make effective decisions. This role is crucial for enhancing efficiency, ensuring quality, and driving continuous improvement across all day-to-day, month-to-month, and season-to-season business functions.
This individual will be highly visible in the organization with direct ownership of several business-critical processes, outcomes, and artifacts. As the lead analyst on the team, projects might include: generating new reports for specific lines of business, overseeing and managing various internal and NHL-facing data exports, supporting Financial audits, deploying collective models to drive business-critical decisions related to business execution, and evaluating existing workflows while identifying opportunities for automation.
Pay
Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $65,300 – $88,200 / year
In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. What will you do?
Own relationships with Ticketing, Premium Corporate Partnerships, and other key business drivers, integrating into those groups to gain a deep understanding of process and pain points, and develop associated solutions to empower their day-to-day
Build business KPI dashboards and visualizations, leveraging industry-standard tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI) to create reports that are digestible, defensible, and actionable
Build models that provide real-time pricing recommendations for key products (tickets, partnership assets, parking, etc.), and work with those departments to validate, implement, and track resultant proposed changes
Work with other verticals to evolve nascent business implementations into refined outputs, making them permanent via documentation and process perfection
Create analytical frameworks, models, reporting structures, analyses, and evidence-based tools and strategies to aid in empowering leadership’s ability to make decisions in a disciplined, intentional, and effective manner
Lead full-lifecycle projects – from requirements through design, user testing and delivery – and define trackable and impactful KPI’s and success criteria that are specific to a given project, and associated regular status updates thereafter
Work closely with both the data warehouse provider (KORE) and the internal Integrations + Insights vertical to ensure all data pipelines and ETLs are stable, information is aggregated appropriately, data quality standards are maintained, and reporting is accurate
Working with the Integrations + Insights vertical, continuously analyze, and propose optimizations to, the organization’s workflows and processes while implementing research-based industry best practices
Maintain ‘first-pass’ responsibility for associated business-related artifacts, such as: slide decks, one-sheeters, data visualizations and dashboards, team status reports, product roadmaps, etc.
Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships with TD Garden and Boston Bruins department leads that foster effective cross-functional collaboration and alignment
Own department-internal project management solution(s), working with Director to ensure work + effort are appropriately prioritized
Track business KPIs and distribute reports to key stakeholders, while proactively identifying business issues
Support other ongoing business projects and priorities within and involving TD Garden, the Boston Bruins, and / or Delaware North on an ad-hoc basis as needed
More about you
Education : Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Business, Operations, or related Business Analytics field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus
Experience : 4 – 6+ years of sports, data analytics, finance, corporate strategy and/or, management consulting experience, with a preference for roles in those industries that were highly technical and data-focused
Demonstrated understanding of processes and relational databases; a broader understanding of complex digital ecosystems and metrics available for collection a strong plus
Experience with Ticketmaster Archtics, KORE, Ticket Sales, Pricing Analytics, and Dynamic Pricing (or relevant similar platforms) required
Ability to write and interpret complex SQL queries in support of data extraction processes or BI reporting
Experience with data analytics-related tools (e.g. R, Stata, Python, Excel Power Query) and data visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI)
Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required; working knowledge of advanced functions in the former (e.g. macros, array formulas, Index Match, etc.) strongly preferred
Experience with an ESP; e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or Eloqua, HubSpot, etc.)
Experience with a CRM application; Salesforce preferred (alternate experience such as Microsoft Dynamics also acceptable)
Experience with formal operations management theory a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail
Highly resourceful and disciplined, with strong emotional intelligence and self-motivation
Experience and comfort with client-facing presentations and interaction
Comfort with and disciplined to manage highly sensitive confidential information
Willingness for infrequent domestic travel and occasional game day/night attendance at home games and events
