Boston University LABORATORY SUPERVISOR IV, School of Medicine, Anatomy & Neurobiology in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Research Program Manager oversees and coordinates the day-to-day activities of academic science laboratory and supports faculty management and administration of research and teaching programs.

This individual is responsible for operational success and assists in defining strategy/direction in accordance with national standards and institutional policies and procedures. The Program Manager directs research technicians, assistants and medical students, and assists post-doctoral fellows with their research activities in the laboratory. In addition, the Program Manager oversees the operations of multiple research efforts under the direction of a principal investigator.

The individual works independently to plan, conduct, and manage research projects within the federal and institutional regulations and policies under the direction of the principal investigator.

Required skills include but are not limited to:

  • High level proficiency in the use of a wide variety of lab techniques, research equipment and research-related software.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Proven ability to communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary research team.

  • Experience in department budget and personnel communication.

  • Demonstration of adherence to standards for the responsible conduct of research.

  • Proficiency in the use of administrative and clinical information resources and decision support tools.

  • Proficiency in compiling and analyzing data to support upper management decision-making.

Required Skills

Bachelor's and 7+ years' experience.
