Boston University Infectious Diseases Clinician Educator, Infectious Diseases, Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts
The Boston Medical Center and Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine seek an outstanding clinician educator to join the Section of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
The primary responsibility of the candidate will be to provide inpatient and outpatient clinical services in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases at Boston Medical Center. The candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in the Clinical Trials Unit within the Section of ID. Teaching responsibilities for this position will include precepting and mentoring ID fellows, residents and medical students.
Candidates should have significant clinical and academic experience in general infectious diseases and HIV medicine. Experience caring for renal transplant and other immunocompromised patients is desirable. Clinical trial experience is preferred but not required; additional training will be provided as needed. The Section offers many opportunities to participate in travel and tropical medicine, clinical care research, and quality improvement activities.
Applicants must have an MD or equivalent degree, be board eligible in Infectious Diseases (certification is preferred), and have demonstrated excellence in patient care and teaching.

The ID Section has expertise treating infections in patients with a wide range of comorbidities and immunocompromising conditions and has particular clinical strengths in HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and infections in patients with opioid-use disorders; infection control and antimicrobial stewardship; tuberculosis; and travel- and migration-related diseases, in particular, Chagas disease. Our research strengths include epidemiology, health services and implementation research, emerging infections, tuberculosis and global health. There are many opportunities to collaborate on projects with faculty across the institution, including the BU School of Public Health (BUSPH) and/or the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL).
