The Advanced Manufacturing Technology team is currently searching for Systems Connectivity professionals who can work independently supporting Smart Factory equipment and engaging the customer, managing the project sprints, and ensuring quality deliverables.

What You Will Do::

  • Contribute to IIoT continued growth and deployment by working with sensors, gateways, connectivity solutions, APIs, and data analytic platforms.

  • Integrate hardware components and complex business systems within the manufacturing floor, ensuring they function seamlessly and securely together.

  • Provide recommendations and execute methods to connect manufacturing equipment to IIoT/OT layer network.

  • Configure and manage communication protocols and network settings on network devices (EIP, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, MTConnect, SECS/GEM, etc).

  • Define integration strategies and methods and plan them within established timeframes.

  • Utilize Kepware/KepserverEX to facilitate reliable connectivity and integration of diverse manufacturing equipment and systems.

  • Analyze and correlate large, complex data sets; support digital thread implementation; develop and execute analytics reports and visualization toolsets while ensuring data integrity.

  • Create and provide technical documentation that explains hardware and integrations to both technical and non-technical individuals.

  • Contribute to major team projects as well as work independently to solve complex problems.

  • Support Systems Design, Fabrication, and Assembly (SDF&A) Engineering Systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to connectivity and integration of manufacturing equipment.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time based on demand (domestic and international)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

  • 5+ years experience with Kepware/KepserverEX or similar OPC/UA software for manufacturing connectivity solutions.

  • 5+ years experience in Ignition development using tools such as SQL, Python, C#/.NET, HTML5, JSON.

  • 5+ of industrial communication protocols such as REST, Modbus/TCP, MQTT, EIP, SECS/GEM, MTConnect, etc.

  • 5+ years experience with PLCs, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and other electronic components commonly used by manufacturing equipment.

  • 5+ years experience with Industry 4.0 key concepts – connectivity, data collection, IIoT, systems integration, AI, machine learning, ISA-95, Pub/Sub, including Perdue Model cybersecurity practices.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Ignition gold certification.

  • Expertise in distributed controls, cyber security, IT infrastructure integration, or other related fields.

  • Experience with SAP, Solumina, IndySoft, Kinexon/RTLS

  • Experience with Azure DevOps services framework.

  • Familiarity with working in a manufacturing environment and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).

  • Familiar with developing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to extract, transform, and load data from various manufacturing equipment and automation lines, such as AOI hardware/software, torque controllers, AGVs/AMRs, RFID/RTLS readers, and oven process controllers.

  • Certification in cybersecurity practices relevant to manufacturing environments.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
