Delaware North Graduate Assistant, Boston Bruins in Boston, Massachusetts

The Opportunity

The Boston Bruins is looking for a part-time Communications Graduate Assistant to join our team at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Boston Bruins Communications Graduate Assistant is an all-encompassing position that fulfills a variety of roles within the Bruins Communications Department. The Graduate Assistant will gain experience working in the public relations, media relations, and content aspects of the department.

This is a season-long position that concludes on June 30, 2023.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely and collaborate with full-time communications staff members to help coordinate public and media relations efforts of the department.

  • Managing media monitoring services as well as compiling daily press clippings.

  • Supporting the gameday media operations for all Boston Bruins home games, which includes setting up all media areas, the press box and credential distribution.

  • Attending meetings with various other departments to help support internal communications obligations.

  • Coordinating interviews between members of the local and national media and Bruins players.

  • Transcribing coach and player interviews for distribution to local media.

  • Working with the Bruins Communications staff to create and develop pitches to publicize the Bruins players, staff and organization.

  • Attending and providing social media coverage of off-ice events in the New England community.

  • Assisting in the media operations of special events, including the NHL Draft and Bruins Development Camp.

  • Administrative tasks, including calendar management, player and staff mail, sending and receiving packages.

  • The Graduate Assistant position will have an integral role within the department with many responsibilities on top of those listed above.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, which includes being organized, responsible, and punctual.

  • Candidates must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree plus previous internship experience, preferably in a sports or PR-related capacity
